Can the 'NO SUCH THING NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH OF THE EAST' attend this meeting?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post, Val Vista.
ReplyDeleteSkrip raises a good question -- to what extent are our various watch meetings open to people outside the neighborhood? Here in Garfield Park we welcome whoever is interested in attending (and, come to find out, kiddos in the park are very interested in attending if hot dogs are involved). I'm guessing this is the case elsewhere, but am nevertheless curious to know others' take.
Yet another intrigued mind would like to know.
ReplyDeleteEd
I know the community-wide Neighborhood Watch meetings are definitely open to everyone. The next one is Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers. Skrip and Ed, you in?
ReplyDeleteWhere is the Council Chambers located? I'm hoping I can make it. Sounds interesting. The more the merrier.
ReplyDeleteThe Council Chamber is located in the cluster of municipal buildings on the southwest corner of Mission and Garey. There are two handy parking lots. One is on Garey just south of Mission; the other is behind the library.
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to find an exact address for the City Council on the city's web page (perhaps it is hiding somewhere in the 6 point font). That said, the library does list an address: 625 S. Garey.
If you get to the library, you'll be within spitting distance and can ask around. Looking for the building that looks like something out of Gotham.
