Thanks to everyone who was able to make it and I'm sorry that more of you couldn't be there.

The beef and pork, once unearthed, were delicious and there was WAY more food than we could all eat.John Cliffordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02875675135859666829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3529370213152975379.post-89669817250340812822009-06-24T07:33:02.049-07:002009-06-24T07:33:02.049-07:00And just to add a little more, I think a family me...And just to add a little more, I think a family membership is actually $30. Sorry this info isn't more accessible, but if you click on the mail-in form you'll see the price structure. Briefly, students/seniors are $20, individuals are $25, and families are $30. Memberships run from Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st. I believe membership also gives you a discount on the Home Tour tickets.

As for newbies who want to sign up at the picnic, I'm quite confident that we can accommodate anyone who wants to join. The only requirement is that you PLEASE RSVP (866)833-4086, so we can have an idea how many are showing up.

It's a wonderful opportunity to meet others who share a love for Pomona both past and present. Don't worry if you live in a less than geriatric home, just an appreciation for Pomona's history is all that is required to join.Edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14606885763750656686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3529370213152975379.post-77949044780746740192009-06-24T06:22:24.329-07:002009-06-24T06:22:24.329-07:00Sorry for the web site screw up (it's been fix...Sorry for the web site screw up (it's been fixed). The actual hours are 4-6 pm. Right now our web membership page is also screwed up (a change in policy at PayPal that we're working on).

So much for the mea culpas. The picnic is an annual event that we've been doing for years. A lot of fun and some good food. It's a way for members to get together, in a wonderful setting, and get a chance to meet other members of Pomona Heritage.

Thanks to PiGP for helping us get the word out.

I just want to make sure that everyone understands that the picnic will be at the Palomares Adobe, not at the Palomares Community Center next door (with the skate park and lawn bowling). You can park at Palomares Park but wander next door to the Adobe for the Picnic. The Adobe is not part of the park, it is operated by the Historical Society of the Pomona Valley.

Again, thanks for the shout out.John Cliffordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02875675135859666829noreply@blogger.com
